I’m excited to share that my portrait of Ernest Hemingway is an American Illustration Chosen Winner.

I made this painting while reading through his works as a channel of inspiration and a reflection of my appreciation for his wrting.

Huge thanks to Mark Heflin and the jury for the honor being featured alongside such an incredible group of artists.

Based on the 1957 photograph by Yousuf Karsh,
taken at Hemingway’s home in Cuba.
